Have you seen these Etisalat Data bundles?

We both know this:
Etisalat Nigeria has one of the best internet services in the country at the moment.
We also both know that:
They are not really cheap.
But there’s good news:
Thanks to a recent data allocation overhaul across all mobile networks in Nigeria, Etisalat internet bundles are now much more affordable to the everyday internet user.
With plans such as 1GB for just ₦500, the internet bundles highlighted in this post would serve you right if you an Etisalat subscriber and you are looking to get the most out of their internet service.

Top Etisalat Data Plans in Nigeria 2017

Etisalat Data Plans
Have you gone through my archive on the best internet bundles in Nigeria?
Please do, but if you have already, you’d have noticed that articles in the archive are structured based on their validity periods.
The same would hold true for this article, so leggo!

Daily Data Plans

Looking to access the internet on Etisalat for only 24 hours?
These bundles will let you do just that without implanting a hole in your pocket.

10MB for ₦50

Ok, compared to the 30MB Globacom offers you for this same price, this is appalling 🙁 but it’s a nice improvement from what used to be possible.
With a validity of just one day, you get 10MB to surf the internet on Etisalat for just ₦50.
To opt-in
Dial *229*3*8#

50MB for ₦100

If ₦100 is all you have to surf the net with, you’re entitled to 50MB on Etisalat. That 50MB is valid for 24hours.
To opt-in,
Dial *229*3*1#

Weekly Data Plans

7 days kind of stuff. 🙂

200MB for ₦200

How they came to conclude on offering this particular bundle still baffles me as “normal” weekly bundles are typically around the ₦500 mark (that’s what we are used to). But hell! It’s a good deal anyways.
At ₦200, you will be allotted 200MB which is valid for 7 days.
To subscribe
Dial *229*2*10#

Weekend Plan

Airtel was the one who started this “dedicated weekend plan madness” offering 1GB for ₦100, then GLO followed suit and introduced a night + weekend hybrid at a really reasonable price. Now, here’s what Etisalat has to offer.

1GB for ₦500

Relative to other weekend plans, this one may still be on the higher end of the price spectrum for most folks – Hell, Glo offers 3GB for this same amount!
But most users would agree with me that Etisalat’s internet connection is more reliable than other mobile network providers’ in most locations in Nigeria.
For ₦500, you have access to the internet (capped at 1GB) for one weekend – between Friday 11:59PM and Sunday 11:59PM.
You want in?
Dial *5995*2#

Monthly Data Plans

Long term things 😉

500MB for ₦500

Go and look anywhere else, Etisalat is the only network provider in Nigeria that has a monthly data offering for this price.
With such entry level price for a monthly subscription, this plan is targeted towards very light internet users (Nairaland and the punch crew) who have very basic internet needs.
Sometimes, I think of this plan as Etisalat’s answer to Airtel’s Opera Mini Bundle (which gives 250MB for ₦300 valid for a month and usable only on Opera Mini) or Facebook’s Free Basics (free access to the internet, courtesy Airtel) with media.
This plan is valid for 30 days.
To get this bundle,
Dial *229*2*12#

1GB for ₦1,000

Nothing new, not mind blowing, just normal. With “a thousand naira” you could be 1GB richer for 30days.
Compared to the competition, this is poor (I know), but that’s why there’s the competition. You have many better options.
To opt in
Dial *229*2*7#

1.5GB for ₦1,200

Etisalat does not deem it fit for folks who have just a thousand naira to enjoy what is being enjoyed from most of the other network providers.
Typically, for ₦200 less, 1.5GB is what you get from MTN and Airtel.
Glo even offers 3.2GB for that amount!
Lo and behold, on Etisalat, you pay more, and get far less. 🙁
To get 1.5GB on Etisalat for ₦1.2k;
Dial *229*2*25#

2.5GB for ₦2,000

Years back, if someone had told me that “Etisalat of all people” would possess an internet bundle such as this in their catalog, I would have rebuked the person.
Super fast internet service is getting cheap in the Nation – It’s the only thing getting cheap though 😥 (Buhari!!).
Where do I start complaining from? 🙁
A few weeks ago, I was happy Etisalat was suddenly getting cheaper and then bam!
The prices shoot up again. 🙁
The 2.5GB plan is valid for a month and costs just ₦2k.
To get this plan,
Dial *229*2*8#

3.5GB for ₦2,500

*sighs*
To opt-in;
Dial *229*2*26#

5GB for ₦3,500

To be honest, I’m tempted to talk about Glo data plans here (again).
Why?
Cos, for this same amount you could get more than double the amount of data. But I will not talk about Glo ( 😛 ), this article is for Etisalat and Etisalat alone.
Ok, Etisalat tried sha, at least compared to the amount of the data that used to be tagged to this same amount, 5GB is an improvement.
Valid for 30 days, 5GB could be yours so long as you can drop “just” ₦3,500 on the table for Etisalat.
To subscribe,
Dial *229*2*9#

11.5GB for ₦8,000

See en, I will not talk too much about this plan – I’m already talking sef 🙁
The plan is valid for 30 days (like the others).
To opt in,
Dial *229*2*5#
It should be noted however that Etisalat still has more internet bundles on their catalog; these were just the only ones I saw as reasonable. To view all Etisalat internet bundles, Visit their official web page.
Also, data rollover applies to all the bundles outlined in this article.

Best Etisalat Data Plans in Nigeria

In summary, Etisalat internet bundles outlined in this article are given below;

So, if other internet services are solid in your area, do well to check out their offers and go with them.
Although, the pricing of these bundles are an improvement from what we have always gotten from the typical Etisalat they are still slightly more expensive than what you can get elsewhere.

These 7+ New MTN Data Plans Could Half Your Data Bills.

Tell me:
Wouldn’t you like to know about these newly launched MTN data plans that could potentially cut down your data bills?
If you are reading this, I’m guessing you are looking for the most reasonable MTN Data plans in Nigeria at the moment.
MTN Data Plans
Data plans outlined in this post could cut down the amount of money you used to spend on internet subscription by up to 50%.
What am I saying?
Well, you know normally it used to be 350MB for ₦1,300 or even the beefy 2015MB for ₦2,015, now you can have almost 2GB for just a thousand naira!
Wait, it gets better:
Do you know you can even get 500MB for just ₦25?
Here’s the interesting part:
These plans can be used on any device. So whether you are browsing with an Android smartphone, a PSP console, a laptop (through your modem), an IOS (Apple) device, these plans will work effortlessly for you.
Stick with me, and you’ll find out how.

Best MTN Data Plans in Nigeria 2017

The MTN Data Plans outlined here are not all that the network provider has to offer, they are just the best ones on their catalog.
If you really want to see all (I mean all) of their internet subscriptions, dial *123# on your device or visit their online store.

Daily Plans

I consider plans under this category quickies. They are plans you subscribe to just to get things done immediately and move on.
  1. 30MB For ₦100

Much like AirtelGlo, and Etisalat, you can get 30MB of Internet data allocated to you for just a ₦100. This is 3 times better than what we used to get (i.e. 10MB for ₦100). The plan is valid for only 24 hours.
To opt-in to this plan,
Dial *104#
Or
Text “104” to 131
  1. 100MB For ₦200

For the first time ever, MTN has the best data plan among Internet service providers in Nigeria for a specific price point. For just ₦200, you can get 100MB to do anything you wish on the internet. This plan like the former is valid for just 24 hours.
To subscribe,
Dial *113#
Or
Text “113” to 131

Weekly Plans

Although only one data plan is present in this category, it is way better than what you used to get before.
  1. 750MB for ₦500

Valid for 7 days, MTN offers you 750MB provided you are willing to pay ₦500.
Is it worth it?
Hell ya, if you ask me. Compare that to what you’d normally get before and tell me tides did not change. 🙂
To get this plan,
Dial *103#
Or
Text “103” to 131

Monthly Plans

This is the category I consider the most important. Nothing much to introduce here, just look at the plans.

  1.

    1.5GB for ₦1,000

When I initially received the message from MTN, I thought it was a joke or maybe a promo which would last only a couple of weeks. I thought wrong.
For a thousand naira, you are allocated 1.5GB to surf the internet for a whole month. This plan is also available on all other Mobile Internet service providers’ catalog in Nigeria.
To opt-in,
Dial *106#
Or
Text “106” to 131
  1. 3.5GB for ₦2,000

If the data allocated to the former plan will be too small to handle your data needs for a full month, a better option would be to lock into this one.
At ₦2,000 you can get over double the amount of data you would normally get for the ₦1,000 plan but it still is valid for only 30 days
To subscribe to this plan,
Dial *110#
Or
Text “110” to 131
  1. 10GB for ₦5,000

3.5GB won’t serve you for a month? This one will do then.
Particularly useful to internet power users, the 10GB MTN data plan gives you unparalleled access to the cyberspace for a full month.
At ₦5,000, the price might look scary to most, it actually is a soft spot for folks who use the internet for business on a small scale (Although Glo has a better data plan at that price).
To get this plan,
Dial *116#
Or
Text “116” to 131
Plan 7 is not for everyone, you could as well skip it.
  1. 22GB for 10,000

Sounds hilarious to most that someone would pay a whopping ₦10,000 to get access to the internet, but “power internet power users” will find it reasonable. 🙂
Pay MTN ₦10k and get 22GB for you online pursuits for a month.
To get this,
Dial *117#
Or
Text “117” to 131.

MTN Night Plan

Remember I said you could get up to 500MB for just ₦25 while introducing this post
Well, this is the MTN Data plan that gives you the power to do that legitimately.
It’s a bit tricky though as you’d have to be on MTN Pulse to be able to use this plan.
If you don’t mind leaving your present tariff plan, migrating to MTN pulse is a breeze. Just dial *406#, you are in!
The night plan can only be utilized between the hours of 12:00am and 4:00am and is valid for only one night.
Also, if you exhaust the 500MB allocated to you before the night is over, you cannot subscribe to the plan again for that night. In essence, it’s one plan per night.
To opt in simply have above ₦25 on your MTN Pulse line, and text “Night” to 131.
To be clear,
Text “Night” to 131

Best Glo Data Plans for Febuary 2017– Over 13 Pocket-Friendly Bundles

How does 10GB of Glo Internet data for just ₦2,500 sound to you?
Wait, don’t answer that, ₦2,500 na big money.

How about 3.2GB for just a thousand naira?
Glo data plans are the cheapest in Nigeria”.
I’m sure you must have heard that statement somewhere, from someone.
Wait, you have not?
Ok. I am telling you now that Glo internet bundles are the cheapest in Nigeria at the moment.
glo data plans
Even after MTN data plans (as well as other mobile network providers’ bundles) saw a dramatic increase in data allocation over the past few weeks, Glo mobile’s internet subscription still remains the most pocket-friendly in Nigeria (so far).
Cheap?
How cheap?
We talking up to 7.5GB of data for just ₦2k. There’s also the mad option of getting 18GB for ₦4k.
It’s not a joke, and so far there’s been no catch.
No catch in the sense that data consumption rates are normal, and the plans (yes all the plans in this article) can be used on any internet enabled device of your choice.
Be it an iPad, an Android smartphone, an iPhone, your internet modem, a PSP console, even a calculator 😛 just so long as it can access the internet.
Ok, I’m tired of talking let’s just have the subscription codes and go.

Best GLO Data Plans in Nigeria at the Moment

Just like I did for other plans, the plans in this article will be categorized by validity periods, so here we go.

Daily Bundles

Plans in this category are the best in Nigeria at the moment.
Think I’m wrong?
Just see for yourself;
  1. 30MB for ₦50

Ok, Globacom is high!
Not too long ago, I was jubilating that “almighty MTN” bumped up the data allocated to their ₦100 day plan and GLO just made it seem like peanuts!
For just ₦50, you get 30MB allocated to you to surf the internet for 24hours.
This plan is just perfect for those times when you are out of airtime (and data) and really need to get something done ASAP.
To opt-in,
Dial *127*14#
Or
Text “14” to 127
  1. 100MB for ₦100

Who remembers the time when one used to get this same amount of data for a thousand naira?
Chai! Those times were really horrible.
For ₦100, Glo gives you 100MB to browse the internet for a whole day.
To subscribe,
Dial *127*51#
Or
Text “51” to 127
  1. 200MB for ₦200

More like an extension of the two previous plans, you can now get 200MB internet data allocated to you for just ₦200. Unlike plan 1 and 2, this one is valid for 3 good days.
To get this plan,
Dial *127*56#
Or

Text “56” to 127

Weekly Bundles

There are two plans highlighted on Glo’s official website, but only one of them is actually worth being on this article.
  1. 1.6GB for ₦500

Airtel and MTN offer 750MB for this same amount, but GLO thinks you deserve more than that.
Valid for over a week (10 days actually), you get 1.6GB Internet surfing data when you pay GLO ₦500 for their big week plan.
To subscribe,
Dial *127*57#
Or
Text “57” to 127

Monthly Bundles

Ok, this is where the ice breaks.
Data plans here are no joke.I’m dead sure data resellers in Nigeria would be looking for another business model at the moment or they could offer unlimited data for pennies (that would be the only reasonable option).
I’m dead sure data resellers in Nigeria would be looking for another business model at the moment or they could offer unlimited data for pennies (that would be the only reasonable option).
I talk too much. Just see the bundles;
  1. 3.2GB for ₦1,000

This is not a joke, it actually works. On Glo, you get 3.2GB data allocated to you for ₦1,000 (1.7GB higher than what you’ll get elsewhere).
On Glo, you get 3.2GB data allocated to you for ₦1,000 (1.7GB higher than what you’ll get elsewhere).
This plan would be convenient for most “regular” internet users (I’m thinking about my Mom right now) as the pricing is just perfect.
Valid for 30 days, this bundle is one you should be using if you are on GLO and you’re a light internet user.
To opt-in;
Dial *127*53#
Or
Text “53” to 127
  1. 7.5 GB for ₦2,000

*laughing hysterically*
GLO just killed their Blackberry comonth plan with this – if not for you, at least for me (there’s no way I’m subscribing to that piece of sh*t any longer).
At ₦2,000 GLO offers you an enormous 7.5GB of internet goodness which is valid for 30 good days!
Look:
If GLO Mobile’s internet service is solid in your locality, then this is the plan to subscribe for on your smartphone.
But wait:
Before you start recharging, have a look at the next plan. I’m promising you, just reading about it will make your day.
To get 6GB @ ₦2k,
Dial *127*55#
Or

Text “55” to 127

  1. 10GB for ₦2,500

Just adding ₦500 to the amount you pay for plan 6 gives you an additional 2.5GB!
Shey I told you this would make your day?
This plan like the other is only valid for 30 days, so if you are a heavy internet user (on a smartphone), this should, by all means, be your sub.
To get this plan,
Dial *127*58#
Or
Text “58” to 127
  1. 12GB for ₦3,000

This one’s gonna be my honey, or no, I think the next plan will be.
Power internet users with good GLO coverage in your area, this is yours.
For ₦3,000 you could be 12GB internet data richer for 30 days.
To opt-in,
Dial *127*54#
Or
Text “54” to 127
  1. 18GB for ₦4,000

I don’t know who is in charge of the “data allocation department” in GLO, but that folk deserves a candy.
Small scale internet business owners/Bloggers, what more could you ask for?
Except connectivity is bad in your area, I see no other logical reason why this should not be the plan to go for.
Also valid for 30 days, you are allocated 18 wonderful Gigabytes of internet awesomeness for just ₦4k
To get this,
Dial *127*59#
Or
Text “59” to 127.
I’m tired of ranting.
There are still more awesome Glo monthly data plans (like 90GB for ₦18k), but to be honest, I don’t know what to type around them so please pardon me and consume the summary below;
PlanValidityOpt-in Code
24GB @ ₦5,00030 days*127*2#

Night and Weekend Plans

1GB for ₦200 (One night stand)

This is by far, one of the cheapest among its peers (or at least, it used to be), but with such a mouthwatering price, there are perks.
This plan works only at night (from 12am – 5am) for just one night!
This plan is for nocturnal folks (I’m proudly one) who want to GTD and move on.
To subscribe,
Dial *127*60#
Or
SMS “60” to “127”

3GB for ₦500 (7 nights + full weekend)

Update: This plan has been discontinued for now.
Of all the sub-₦500 plans,
this is the one I use and recommendI’ve jumped ship!
Here’s the deal:
For ₦500, you get allocated 3GB of data for an entire week, but there are restrictions.
On weekdays (Mon – Fri), the plan only works at night (12am – 5am), but for Saturdays and Sundays, the plan works 24hours.
Remember, The plan is only valid for a week!
To subscribe,
Dial *127*61#
Or

One last thing;

How to use these Glo Data Plans on your BB10 device

Ok, the emails have been rolling in on whether or not the bundles highlighted in this article work on Blackberry 10 devices.
Simple answer:
Yes, they do. In fact, flawlessly. But there’s a twist.
To be able to use these plans on your BB 10 device, you would have to change the APN (Access point Name) of your device from “blackberry.net” or whatever that was there to “glosecure”.
Wait, let me make it more comprehensive:
To use these plans on your BB10, change your APN from whatever it is to “glosecure”
Another option would be using what Glo themselves suggested on twitter:

That’s pretty much all that there is to the best Glo Data plans in the country at the moment.
